The Thicket, in partnership with The Burncoat Center for Arts and Wellness, is hosting our first ever Thicknic (A Picnic for Thicc Folks) on Sunday, July 21st 2024 from 1-4pm at 78 Burncoat Street, Worcester. The event will center around a plus-size clothing swap!
To participate, a sliding-scale admission of $5-$15 will be collected to the swap portion of the Thicknic. Attendees may bring unwanted clothing to swap with fellow fat folks, sizes LARGE and UP only! Clothing should be laundered, in excellent condition and free from any large rips or stains. Bring the kind of clothing you'd share with family or friends!
The event will also feature crafters/local artisans, family friendly activities, and local nonprofit organizations for attendees to learn more about.
The Thicknic is an opportunity for folks in bigger bodies to connect, network & see themselves represented. This event is rain or shine--we have a tent to keep the clothing swap as dry as possible in the event of rain.
Potential vendors/makers/artisans who identify as fat/thicc/plus size are HIGHLY encouraged to apply to participate--big bodies supporting big bodies is the goal of this event!
