What if the most important question is not one AI can answer, but one we must ask ourselves? In this lecture, Korea’s preeminent authority on Seon (Zen) meditation, who has guided more than 30,000 practitioners, invites us to confront a deceptively simple question: What is this “I” that sees, hears, and thinks? He will offer a rare firsthand experience of Ganhwa Seon practice and show how its radical practice of questioning can speak to us in the age of AI.
Speaker: Seon Master Subul

Seon Master Subul (b. 1953) is an influential monk in Korea’s Jogye Order, the largest Buddhist order in Korea. Ordained in 1975, he founded Anguk Seon Center in Busan in 1989 and later opened a branch in Seoul in 1996 and Los Angeles in 2022. More than 30,000 laypeople have participated in his retreats in Korea and around the world. He has served as abbot of Beomeosa Monastery and as Director at the International Meditation Center at Dongguk University.
