The Thawra Book Club: The Grand Scheme of Things

From political non-fiction, to poetry, to spiritual awakenings by OG writers and brilliant newcomers — The Thawra Book Club has been delving into a wide range of interesting topics that touch on the way we as ethnic minorities navigate our places in society.

This month, we'll be reading Warona Jay's debut The Grand Scheme of Things — a thrilling web of lies, institutional racism in the arts, prejudice and privilege. It's also wildly entertaining, ingeniously plotted and thought-provoking.

Our in-person book club will be held on 25th September at Bonnier Books UK, 5th Floor, HYLO, 105 Bunhill Row, London, EC1Y 8LZ. Expect lots of great discussion, delicious refreshments, good vibes and an appearance from the author! We want this space to be a complete free, creative space for all to feel comfortable in voicing their thoughts and opinions — no matter how relevant you think it is and how much of the book you've read. Feel free to bring your physical/digital copy along with you!
