After forming in the heavily-saturated arts scene of Los Angeles in 2014, THE TENS embarked on a sonic journey of 400+ shows across the United States, taking them from busking on street corners to headlining music festivals.

In 2016, the band cut a live double LP, directly to vinyl in Nashville's Welcome to 1979 (Jason Isbell, Lake Street Dive, Chris Stapleton) with engineer Chris Mara. The eponymous record, only available on vinyl, captures THE TENS' earliest influences of funky southern soul and pure analog nostalgia. The intention was to record something lyrically and musically honest through a process that was comparatively truthful and unforgiving.

They teamed up with Mara again in 2018 to produce their first digital singles "Time" and "Rescue"; a pair of songs tackling the feeling of existential isolation in a time of social turmoil. The release was the band's introduction to the digital world and is a prelude to their highly anticipated, upcoming studio full-length Broken Romantic (summer, 2021).

THE TENS' name was initially derived to boldly stake claim on the tumultuous decade in which it was formed. Like the rest of the world, THE TENS eagerly wait for life in the "roaring twenties" to commence and for tour life to begin once again.
