About this Event
Join Tatreez Collective for a hands-on workshop where you will learn how to personalise your own clothing using tatreez, the traditional art of Palestinian embroidery.
In this session, you’ll be introduced to the history and symbolism behind Palestinian motifs and guided through the technique needed to stitch onto fabric using the waste canvas method. You’ll then apply our design directly onto your own garment, transforming it into a meaningful, one-of-a-kind piece.
This workshop is suitable for beginners — no prior embroidery experience is required.
What to bring:
Please bring a non-stretch garment, ideally made from denim or linen. Jackets, shirts, tote bags, or structured cotton items work best. Stretchy fabrics (such as jersey or lycra blends) are not suitable for this technique.
All embroidery materials (threads, needles, waste canvas, and pattern guides) will be provided.
Come stitch, learn, and leave wearing your story.
