THE TAO OF WATERCOLOR: PAINTING SIMPLE LANDSCAPES AND WATER SCENESWith Sharion Windom
Mondays, June 21 through July 26, 2021
9:30 to Noon in the Social Hall
$150 in Advance or $25 per Class Meeting + Cost of Art Supplies
Minimum 4 students – Maximum 6 students
This six-week class is designed for the beginning watercolorist who has completed at least one six-week course with instructor and for those who have basic introductory skills. (Students who have not attended previous classes with instructor, please contact Shari prior to enrolling.) We will approach this subject by learning to look with an artist’s eye by identifying: the direction and quality of light; still and moving water; a center of interest; and color choices to create mood. Various techniques and approaches will be discussed, demonstrated, and practiced, including color mixing, brush work, methods of application, special techniques, and introduction to composition. Various pre-sketched, colored, compositions/ paintings will be provided by the instructor for studies. The five essential principles of the Tao Te Ching: centering, deliberateness, playfulness, balance, and flow, will guide our practices. Early registration is recommended.
