The Swongos are an instrumental Surf Band from the St. Croix River Valley on the Minnesota/Wisconsin border. Their music goes from soft, sweet, and dreamy to wacky, wild and psychedelic. In addition to Surf Music, they have many styles of music such as Spy, Exotica, and Psychedelic Rock sprinkled in their sound. The Swongos are influenced by traditional surf music like Dick Dale and the Ventures but also groups such as the Pixies, Frank Zappa, and Los Cubanos Postizos.
The Swongos have played shows with Messer Chups, The Surfaris, Eddie Angel (Los Straightjackets), Deke Dickerson, Surfer Joe, Tony Andreason (The Trashmen), The Phantom Surfers, Los Bitchos, Los Yesterdays, The Intoxicators, Yuuf, Aurelio Voltaire, The Volcanos, Intoxicats, Surf Zombies, 13 Tikis, Trailer Trash, Black Widows, Turn Turn Turn, Gully Boys, and many more.
They have also played a number of music festivals such as Surf Guitar 101 Festival, Big Kahuna Bash, Mississippi Mayhem, Rockaway Beach Surf Music Festival, and Marysville Hot Wheels Weekend.
Jupiter 2 is a three-piece instrumental band, fusing surf rock with deep-space grooves. Emerging from Akron, Ohio, the band features drummer Mark Markymoon Moon, guitarist James Millar and bassist Linda Harrison Millar.
