A month after a bruising election that has divided families, friends and people of faith, New York Times columnist David French will speak on "The Surprising Path Out of Our Political Crisis" at Saint David’s Episcopal Church in West Nashville on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m.
French will talk about how the Church can meet its calling in challenging times by tackling alienation, loneliness and political echo chambers through love and friendship.French, an evangelical conservative who lives in Middle Tennessee, writes about law, culture, religion and armed conflict for the Times.
He is a graduate of Lipscomb University and Harvard Law School and has practiced law as a commercial litigator and constitutional lawyer. He also served as an Army lawyer and deployed as a soldier to Iraq, where he won a Bronze Star for his service in 2007.French wrote for National Review, The Dispatch (which he helped start) and The Atlantic before joining the Times in 2023. His most recent book is “Divided We Fall: America’s Secession Threat and How to Restore Our Nation.”
