The Hellenic Museum is delighted to open a new contemporary art exhibition from Friday 30 September.
'The Sun at Midnight' invites you to consider the universality of Hellenism through the works of five contemporary Australian artists: Ann Debono, Rob McLeish, Stephen Benwell, Grace Wood and Ngilan Margaret Dodd.
Viewed in isolation, these works might not immediately evoke Hellenic influence. But thoughtfully curated together, in an intimate new gallery in the heart of the Hellenic Museum, you cannot help but notice their common thread. Discover Hellenic influence in unexpected places, and explore the ways in which Greek classicism continues to permeate and evolve in contemporary culture.
'The Sun at Midnight' opens from 10AM Friday 30 September. This exhibition has been curated by Adam Stone, founder-director of Melbourne's LON Gallery in collaboration with the Hellenic Museum.
