The Suffolk Learning Disability Strategy: My Voice Focus Group
About this Event
Your Ordinary Life: How ACS Can Support You
Are you passionate about improving support for people with learning disabilities and autism? We want to hear from you!
The My Voice Focus Group is a great opportunity to work together in new and innovative ways to make a real difference. This group brings together self-advocates, families, carers, service providers, and key organisations—everyone is welcome.
Co-chaired by:
- Nic Roper, Assistant Director of Mental Health, Learning Disabilities & Autism at Suffolk County Council
- Mark Conquer, Expert with Experience Project Worker at Ace Anglia
We have been listening carefully through self-advocacy groups, conversations at the My Health Focus Group, and the Suffolk Learning Disability Partnership Board. A clear message has come through — many people are feeling uncertain about change.
People have shared their thoughts about local elections and changes to political leadership in the council, and what this might mean for them and their future.
This meeting is an important opportunity for people to come together and speak directly with Suffolk County Council. It is a safe and supportive space where you can share your thoughts in a way that works for you.
You will have the chance to:
- Talk and Write down your thoughts and write down your issues
- Draw or use creative ways to express how you feel
We want everyone to be able to take part in a way that feels comfortable for them.
Your experiences matter, and your voice can help shape what happens next.
