About this Event
In 1888, August Strindberg wrote two plays in the naturalist style: Miss Julie and Creditors. During the writing of these plays he claims to be going "insane" as he fearfully explores he own battle with gender, sexuality, and identity through his characters he is writing. Soon after writing these plays, he quit the theatre altogether and turned to alchemy and then committed himself to an asylum where he would stay for years. What did he discover in his experiment with these plays? Could actors experimenting with his experiment discover something new about this prolific Swedish Shakespeare that scholars have been trying to work out for a hundred years? This original play is created by Salve Regina Theatre Program Coordinator, Dr. Tara Brooke Watkins in cooperation with and with contributions from the cast.
This production is one of two fall theatre productions. The other is The Bible Women's Project. The plays run in repertory, so you can see both! To purchase tickets for The Bible Women's Project as well, click here: Bible Women's Project Ticket Link
