Please join Conservation Nebraska and Eastridge Presbyterian Church in welcoming Joe Starita, author of A Warrior of the People: How Susan La Flesche Overcame Racial and Gender Inequality to Become America’s First Indian Doctor.Starita has been deeply interested in Native American history and culture since his youth, which has inspired much of his writing. He has a rich background in writing and journalism and was an associate professor at the University of Nebraska where he taught depth reporting for 20 years.
