Halloween is fast approaching, and the Nebraska Stonewall Democrats want to celebrate with some queer joy for the spooky season! The Stonewall Bone Ball will be a multi-stage event consisting of a dinner with speakers to start the evening, then a drag show and dance party to close out the night. There will be a costume contest - dress your best!Zooey Zephyr will be coming down to join us! Rep. Zephyr is the first transgender legislator from Montana and gained national recognition when she was censured by the Montana House for proclaiming that the legislators pursuing their agenda hurting trans kids will “have blood on their hands” for the harm they were about to cause. Come meet her and listen to her speak on the importance of queer representation in politics.
The dinner aspect will begin at 6:30pm with the “show” starting at 7pm. We will mingle, eat, and listen to Rep. Zephyr speak. Around 8pm we will begin the transition into the drag show/costume contest/dance party and will start the entertainment shortly after 8:30pm. We will transition from drag to dancing around 9:30/10pm and we have the hall until midnight.
This will be a ticketed event! HOWEVER we do want to note that we will be contacting sponsors to provide the queer community with free tickets if you cannot afford to go. We will have more details to come in a couple of weeks!
