The State of Georgia is fronted by singer songwriter (and bassist in recently reformed indie pop band The Research) Georgia Jakubiak whose most recent album 'This Time' was her fifth to date. The album has received radio plays on BBC Introducing Leeds and BBC 6 Music with single 'Punching' being described as an 'anthem' by Emily Pilbeam. That single also landed Georgia a gig at Manchester Arena for the world Taekwondo Championships. The State of Georgia comes as a 7 piece full band set up with 4 female vocals or a more stripped back version. Georgia is now back at Greenmount Studio in Leeds writing and recording some new songs with a single 'Rebel Heart' due to be released this summer.
