The SPS Big Welcome

Students from across the School of Social and Political Sciences are invited to join us in the Debates Chamber of the GUU to celebrate the start of the new academic year at our Big Welcome!

Come along with your fellow SPS friends or come on your own! The event is designed so you can meet and chat with new people - we are sure you will make new friends while playing a game of Giant Pass the Pigs! Or maybe Articulate? Or the classic 1980s game of Play Your Cards Right! Maybe you'll meet your new pals jumping through hoops or during a Pictionary battle!? There are also prizes to be won!

Free food and a drink will be available, with vegan and gluten-free options. For any accessibility requests, please contact the organiser - alternatively, you can leave a comment when registering.

Tickets are FREE and are available on a first come, first served basis. This event is for SPS students only- make sure to register to secure your place.

Remember: Registering and failing to let us know that you can no longer attend results in a waste of food and a fellow student not being able to attend in your place.

If you can no longer attend the event, please contact the organiser or cancel your ticket via Eventbrite as soon as possible. This will give others a chance to join and avoid unnecessary no-shows, while also working towards our sustainability goals.

Registration will open at 4:30pm and the event will start at 5pm promptly. Please ensure you arrive with sufficient time to register. Latecomers may not be permitted.

The event is brought to you by the School’s Student Experience Forum (STEF) which aims to build a strong School community, and supports our Social & Public Policy, Politics, Economic & Social History , Central & East European, International Relations student societies.
