The SPS Ball

Celebrate the end of teaching at the School of Social and Political Sciences' Student Ball!

The Student Ball is open only to current students in SPS who are aged 18 or over.

Each ticket includes:

6:45pm - Drinks Reception - Glass of fizz on arrival

7:30pm - Three course set menu (With wine on the table)

9.30pm - DJ Set + Two hour photo booth

Ticket costs are £38 + booking fees.

Dresscode: Formal Wear

Due to the availability of alcohol, this event is for those aged 18 and over ONLY. Please ensure you bring photographic ID which shows your date of birth as this will be checked prior to entry.

This event promotes responsible drinking, and the venue reserves the right to stop serving or remove any person who does not meet this requirement. Please be aware that although this event is financially supported by the School of Social and Political Sciences, attendees are responsible for themselves and must adhere to the rules of the venue.

The SPS Student Ball is intended ONLY for students who study a subject area within the School of Social and Political Sciences. If you are not an SPS student, please note that we reserve the right to cancel and refund your ticket as there will be a high demand for tickets from SPS students.

Only one ticket can be bought per person as we need the details of each attendee.

As tickets are nominal and personal, they are also non-transferable. If you can no longer make the event, you can request a refund until end of day Monday 9 March and your place will be offered to the first person on the waiting list.

Refunds will not be provided after Monday 9 March 2026.

Booking fees are non-refundable.

Please ensure that you arrive with enough time to ‘check-in’ with SPS staff. All guests must be seated by 7:20pm and latecomers may not be admitted. 'Check-in' will begin from 6:45pm.

Once seated for dinner please stay in the same seat until service is finished.

Dietary requirements must be completed at time of registration and cannot be changed as they will be given to the hotel in advance.

Although off campus, attendees will be representing the School and University and must abide by the University Code of Student Conduct. The venue reserves the right to eject any person not behaving appropriately and no refunds will be given.

Please do not bring any alcohol or illegal substances to the event. Bags may be checked, any prohibited items will be confiscated and individuals removed from the event.

Photos will be taken at the event for display on our social media and communications platforms. If you do not wish to appear in these photos please let the photographer and event organisers know on the night.
