Event Description:
Join Speaker Donna Skelly in conversation with Moira Welsh, author of The Astonishing Lives of Older Women which explores the hidden financial harm facing women as longevity becomes a blessing and a curse.
About the Panelist
Moira Welsh is the author of The Astonishing Lives of Older Women and a Toronto Star political journalist at Queen's Park.
Moira has spent years writing about the lives of older adults as an investigative reporter and was the Star’s lead on its The Third Act project, which challenges governments, policymakers and institutions to improve the way we live in our later years.
She is the author of Happily Ever Older: Revolutionary Approaches to Long-Term Care (2021) and with the Star, co-authored three National Newspaper Awards for Toronto Star investigations; was a finalist for a Michener Award for Meritorious Public Service Journalism; the Justicia Award for Legal Reporting and the Canadian Hillman Prize for investigative journalism “in service of the common good.”
