Baobab Southern Kitchen is coming to The Redd for one evening only.This is a demonstration dinner. The food is soulful, the sourcing is seasonal, and every dish arrives at the table with its history intact. Chef Kamal will walk you through all of it.
Baobab is a Willamette Valley supper club rooted in the culinary traditions of the African diaspora. Gullah Geechee foodways, Gulf Coast soul, and the deep pantry of the American South meet the Pacific Northwest at every Baobab table. Chef Kamal grew up in Houston, trained as a Reproductive Biologist, and spent the last decade building a culinary practice around one core idea: ingredients carry memory.
**The Menu**
Pimento Cheese Gougères
Airy French cheese puffs made with sharp pimento cheese, served warm with piment d'Espelette rémoulade.
Potlikker Soup
Spring mustard and turnip greens in a deeply flavorful long-simmered broth. A staple of Southern cooking rooted in survival, nourishment, and community.
Red Wine Braised Oxtails
Slow-cooked until tender, served over creamy stone-ground cheese grits. A foundational dish across the African diaspora, from the American South to the Caribbean to West Africa and Brazil.
Lemon Strawberry Trifle
Hood Strawberries, bright lemon curd, and lavender-infused chantilly cream. A Pacific Northwest finish.

**The Evening**
2:30 PM · Doors open, gougères and welcome drinks
3:00 PM · Demonstration begins
5:15 PM · Closing remarks and guest interaction

**Tickets**
$105 per person
Includes live chef demonstration, four-course dinner, and mocktail pairings.
A limited number of chef's table seats are available for first plating and direct interaction with Chef Kamal and staff. Chef's table seating is available at an additional cost of $30.
