The Sound of Bed Stuy (screening and Dub party!)

From Stept Studios, with support from Smirnoff, comes The Sound of Bed-Stuy, a short documentary shedding light on sound system culture in New York City through the lens of Dub-Stuy, a Brooklyn-based music collective. Shot during the latter part of the pandemic, the film focuses on key members of the collective as they plan an outdoor event using their sound system as a microphone for their community.

The documentary features interviews with collective founder Quoc Pham, as well as affiliated artists JonnyGo Figure, Hilla Bundem and Blakkamoore.

We are teaming up with Native, ATX Dub Club, Goodburn Sauce Co and Something Liquid to present a screening of the film on February 5 at 8PM, followed by Dub Stuy selectors/ DJs Q Mastah and Edica+, with special guests. Goodburn Sauce Co will be providing snacks and sampling their craft hot sauces.
