This concert reimagines the timeless songs of Simon & Garfunkel, alongside Paul Simon’s rich solo career, transformed through fresh jazz arrangements that surprise and delight. Familiar melodies take on new harmonic colors, unexpected rhythms, and inventive textures — beloved songs, but never quite like this. It’s an evening that honors original artistry while inviting audiences to hear these classics with new ears. Ray Greene is a singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist living in Columbia. He earned a degree in music performance from Boston’s world-renowned Berklee College of Music. Brought up in the shadows of soul/R&B legends, Greene is equally adept at the traditions of gospel, jazz, and blues. He has performed and recorded with many of the most successful and influential names in the fields of pop, funk, and soul, most notably Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, the Isley Brothers, and Rick James. Greene was selected from several candidates around the country to serve as lead singer/trombonist for the legendary soul band Tower of Power, with whom he toured for two years throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan. He was then asked to join famed guitarist Carlos Santana, with whom he currently travels extensively to places all over the world, including Dubai, Singapore, Australia, Monaco, Mexico, and South Africa. Santana’s music has been a tremendous showcase for Greene’s abilities as a vocalist, trombonist, and percussionist.
