There was something special about the early 2000s.
Before algorithms told us what to listen to, we discovered music by word of mouth. We burned CDs, shared playlists, debated our favorite albums, and found ourselves somewhere between Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Musiq Soulchild, D'Angelo, Sade, Floetry, Bilal, Glenn Lewis, Res, Joi, Amel Larrieux, Me'Shell NdegéOcello, Les Nubians, Jaguar Wright, Gordon Chambers, Martin Luther, Van Hunt, Dwele, Eric Roberson, Kindred the Family Soul, Raheem DeVaughn, Macy Gray, Vivian Green, India Arie, Angie Stone, and so many others who became the soundtrack to our lives.
For the past 25 years, On The B Side has created spaces where lovers of poetry, live music, and soul culture could gather, connect, and build community. Along the way, we've had the honor of welcoming many of those same artists to our stage, including Kindred the Family Soul, Eric Roberson, Raheem DeVaughn, Gordon Chambers, Jaguar Wright, and Macy Gray. Jill Scott even stopped by one of our events.
THE SOULCIAL is a one-night-only pop-up created for the NEW OLD SOULS people who still appreciate real conversations, great music, handcrafted cocktails, delicious food, and meaningful connections.
No performances.
No networking agenda.
No pressure.
Just a room full of good people, a soundtrack that feels like home, and an atmosphere where conversations happen naturally.
