Hosted by Disability Wales, we will be celebrating ResponsABLE assistances Sharing Cultural Diversity project, their collaborations with Hub Cymru Africa and Welsh Government's Wales and Africa grants scheme administered by WCVA.
ResponsABLE assistance's Fursa initiative in the Kibwezi region of Kenya has been running since 2019. Fursa (meaning Opportunity in Swahili) is an initiative to support disabled people and their families to sustain their future livelihoods.
Fursa initiative coordinator Dr Cecilia Nyagah, Fursa group members Francis Mutuku, Muendi Mutuse, Trevor Muuo Francis, Nzembi Musuvali and supporter Josemarie Nyagah's visit to South East Wales has been part funded by Newport City Councils, Arts and Culture, Heritage and Sports grant scheme.
Peter Nyamai, Makueni County Minister in charge of Gender, Children, Youth, Sports, and Social Services is accompanying the delegation, all of whom will be present at the event which will highlight The Social Model of Disability's cross cultural values.
The event will take place at Sbarc/Spark and online from 2 - 3.30pm on Wednesday 23rd October.
