The So So Singers plus The Portland Mountain Boys

sing four- and more-part harmonies for songs from the past 60 years of folk, pop, and rock music. They began in 2018 when a few singers in The Low Bar Chorale, Portland's premiere drop-in pop singing experience, decided they wanted to learn more about complex harmonies, and they asked Low Bar director and founder Ben Landsverk to be their coach and teacher. Over seven years later, the now self-directed group sings both familiar and new arrangements of songs by artists ranging from Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Dolly Parton, and The Rolling Stones, to First Aid Kit, The Postal Service, and boygenius.
Featuring old time and timeless tunes played with heart, have spent more than a decade developing their unique sound on front porches and back decks, at farmers markets and street fairs, and in various drinking establishments around Portland. This 5-piece string band plays an eclectic mix of old-time, folk and country music, with several originals thrown in. A PMB show is always a sweet-strumming, foot-tapping, fast-picking good time.
