INTERCLUB SPARRING SERIESThe purpose of these series is to assist with the growth of amateur Muaythai athletes in a strictly controlled environment.
Muaythai BC:
Muaythai BC is integral to the growth of the sport
Sport Accident insurance is part of membership
In 2023, all fighters, coaches and gyms need to be members of Muaythai BC to compete in its events. Ie. Boxing BC, Wrestling BC, etc.
All members of Muaythai BC can compete in the Provincial Championships in April to win a spot to represent Team BC in the Nationals. Funding for travel.
Interclub rules:
75% power – strictly enforced.
Modified rules – no elbows or knees to the head
If you are snapping your opponents head back, know to ease up
Referees have been instructed firmly to control power
The goal is to have amateurs get in ring experience in controlled environments.
The purpose of offering this platform is to give you the opportunity to see if you want to move forward with an amateur career.
Equipment requirements:
• Full cheek head gear
• Mouthguard
• Hand wraps – no taping of hands
• 16oz. gloves
• Metal cup for males
• Leather Shin Pads
