About this Event

The SisterFriend Gathering

A Cross-Cultural Empowerment & Networking Experience

Presented by Peace Works United

Convenor: Melannie Denise Cunningham, aka Peace Queen

Featuring Special Guest: GooGoo Atkins, author of What I Did to Become Who I Am

Most of us live and work within a few miles of women we never really get to know. Here's a Saturday afternoon to change that. Enjoy food, drinks, music, and guided networking as you build friendships with women across the Black, white, Indigenous, Latina, Asian, Pacific Islander, and immigrant communities of the South Sound, shop women entrepreneurs, and settle in for an intimate conversation with celebrity stylist, TV personality, and author GooGoo Atkins on her new book, What I Did to Become Who I Am. Every $65 ticket includes a signed copy. Come as a group or solo and leave with new SisterFriends. Scholarships available.

(Idea: This can be a mother/daugher, aunt/auntee, grandma/granddaughter, sister/sister, mentor/mentee hangout situation). Doors open at 11:45a

Info: THE EXPERIENCE

Arrive on the Red Carpet
Walk in, strike a pose, and step straight into the energy. No waiting around. From the moment you arrive, you're in it: music playing, food and drinks flowing, and a marketplace of women-owned businesses ready for you to shop.

Mix, Mingle, and Shop
Guided networking activities have you laughing and connecting from the jump. Grab a plate, grab a drink, and make your first new SisterFriend before you even sit down. Shop the vendor marketplace and support women entrepreneurs along the way.

The Gathering of the Room
Your Convenor, Melannie Denise Cunningham, the Peace Queen, calls everyone together. One room. Women from across the Black, white, Indigenous, Latina, Asian, Pacific Islander, and immigrant communities of the South Sound, all here on purpose.

The Conversation: GooGoo Atkins
