This unique, hour-long experience blends cultural and scientific education, sound exploration, and hands-on practice with both traditional metal singing bowls and modern crystal singing bowls.We begin with an overview of the origins and evolution of singing bowls, focusing on their use throughout the Himalayan region. We’ll explore how the modern practice of sound healing—particularly in the West—has developed in recent decades, incorporating both metal and crystal bowls. You'll learn the basics of how sound can support relaxation, focus, and inner awareness, and there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
The second half of the session is experiential. You’ll be guided in playing metal and crystal singing bowls, learning different techniques to create rich tones and harmonious vibrations. We’ll end with a short group sound meditation, to create a peaceful, shared soundscape.
Whether you’re new to sound work or looking to deepen your practice, this session offers a grounded and inspiring introduction to the world of singing bowls.
