The Friends Folk Club is Celebrating It’s 40th Season. Help celebrating will be a return visit by the 2018 Delaware Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, The Sin City Band 🎸on Friday, November14th at 7:30PM The Sin City Band has been playing Americana, Roots, Folk music throughout the Delaware Valley since 1974. They have been ambassadors of ”genre blending" from The Grand Bahamas to The Grand Opera House, from New England to Colorado and from Wilmington to Oxford. They have never met a dance-floor that they didn't like. We are pleased to welcome them back to the Friends Folk Club!
The Sin City Band started in 1974 when Scott Birney and a few friends from Delaware moved to New Hampshire and started playing gigs at Moose lodges and VFW halls. They returned home a year later and soon were traveling to clubs in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., in a 1966 GM school bus, Birney says. Members come and go, but the band is still active, playing a mix of blues and country at weddings, parties and local venues.
Tickets are $15 (cash only), and will be available at the door. Children12 and under are free. Refreshments are available at a reasonable price.
Doors open at 7:00PM, and the concert will start at 7:30PM. The concert will be held at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church 116 Lancaster Pike Oxford, PA 19363.
