Daniel Down has a significant media presence. From “Gawler in Photographs” and “Humans in Gawler”, locals would recognise Daniel’s individual style of output, especially his photography. As part of the SALA & Arts on the Plains events, Gawler Poets @ the Pub will host Daniel with a workshop focusing in on the man himself and his artwork. Daniel’s presentation will detail his work within the community and social media presence. Within this, a chance will be given to hone your writing skills by composing your own story/mood/feelings by viewing a selection of Daniel’s portfolio over the course of his camera-inspired journey.Daniel Down settled in South Australa in his formative years, with his family moving to Gawler from the UK. He curates (is the admin of) the social media pages “I’m From Gawler”, “Gawler In Photographs”, and the ”Gawler Street Art Community”. Daniel has worked closely with the local council on various projects around town such as public murals and exhibited he works at several photographic events. He has a monthly column in “The Bunyip” called “Humans of Gawler”. All of this is very far removed from his normal 9 – 5 work life.
