The Shred are an electrifying new instrumental band from Devon. Bringing a fresh fusion of high-energy beats, vibrant melodies and infectious grooves to every performance.
After playing hundreds of sessions together, multi-instrumentalists and songwriters: David and Ed wanted to create a band that could explore other musical genres including Afrobeat, Klezmer, Dub and Hip Hop as well as their first love of Reggae and Ska. They brought together a group of local musicians with the ambition of creating a band that could emulate the style and musical breadth of famous studio session bands such as The Meters, Booker T. & the M.G’s, The Wrecking Crew and The Funk Brothers. Having now written an extensive catalogue of music and played a successful string of dates The Shred are quickly gaining a reputation for their original music and energetic live performances. They are now available as a band for hire on gigs and sessions in the South West of England.
