After two sold-out shows at Sheffield’s Octagon centre, the Sheffield Beatles Project are returning to perform 1968’s 'The Beatles', better known as The White Album. It’s going to be a mammoth show, featuring our 30-piece band and orchestra playing the entire double album in full - all 30 tracks of it.
Coming in at just over 90 minutes, it shows The Beatles in one of their most creative and experimental eras. It’s got some great singalong hits - songs like 'Back In The USSR' and 'Helter Skelter' are going to tear the roof off, meanwhile 'Blackbird' and 'Dear Prudence' will let us show off the gentler side of Lennon and McCartney’s songwriting. But over the original two discs, there are some fantastic weird and wonderful moments for the true Beatles devotees amongst you too - George Harrison listing all of his favourite sweets and chocolates in 'Savoy Truffle' or the experimental 'Wild Honey Pie'… and let’s not forget 'Revolution No. 9'! As always, we will be playing the entire album in full: every song, every harmony, every tiny interlude and unexpected moment will be faithfully recreated. If it’s on the album - it’s in our show.
This year, for the first time we are playing TWO SHOWS - one all seated, one all standing. If you’d like to sit, please buy a ticket for SUNDAY 8TH DECEMBER. This gig will be an event that we hope will be accessible for everyone. Every ticket will be seated, and as well as that we’ll be starting a little earlier (doors at 3pm for a 4pm start), turning the volume down just a little bit and keeping the house lights dimmed but not off. For children and families, neurodivergent people, and those who just don’t like standing, we hope you’ll all feel safe and comfortable.
For those of you that want to dance, sing and have a bit more of a raucous time, SATURDAY 7TH DECEMBER at 7pm (show starting at 8pm) will be a more typical noisy Saturday night affair. Please note that all tickets for the Saturday will be standing, though as always a small seated platform for the disabled and their carers will be available.
Tickets are on sale and are priced £25 or £17 for under-14s (plus booking fees). Visit bit.ly/sbptix2024 to buy them now.
If you have any questions about tickets or access don’t hesitate to get in touch - [email protected]. We answer all our emails ourselves!
