The Shape of Us: A Community Collage Art Workshop
About this Event
Led by artist Zsudayka Nzinga, this art workshop is where creativity becomes a pathway to storytelling, identity, and connection.
Inspired by the work of Romare Bearden, Nzinga will help participants create collages of their favorite DC communities. Using a collage technique called Chigiri-e, a Japanese art form, participants will tear and assemble brightly colored cultural landscapes of memory, culture, and space.
Designed with families in mind, this welcoming workshop invites participants of all ages to explore self-expression in a supportive and inspiring environment. Together, we celebrate the beauty of our differences and the shared threads that connect us all.
All materials are provided—just bring your imagination, your story, and your unique perspective.
