The Seldom Scene

Legendary progressive bluegrass band The Seldom Scene brings an evening of bluegrass to Hagerstown.
About this Event

The Seldom Scene plays Hagerstown Friday, May 28, 2027 at 8 pm at Live at Hub City Vinyl. For more than five decades, The Seldom Scene has been one of progressive bluegrass's defining bands. Formed in 1971 in Bethesda, Maryland, the Washington, DC-area quintet built its reputation blending original songs, traditional material, and soulful reinterpretations of songs by writers including Merle Haggard and James Taylor — helping lay the groundwork for today's bluegrass boom. The current lineup features guitarist and mandolin player Lou Reid, bassist Ronnie Simpkins, banjoist and fiddler Ron Stewart, dobro player Fred Travers, and guitarist Clay Hess. Join us for an evening of bluegrass with the Seldom Scene. This is a seated listening room show; all ages 12 and over are welcome.
