The MN Landscape Arboretum’s community partner in 2024 was Zongxee Lee, who comes from a long line of Hmong herbalists, or healers. Lee’s mother, May, and sister Mhonpaj started Mhonpaj Garden, the state’s first Hmong-owned certified organic farm, which sells vegetables and medicinal herbs. May Lee will speak to the garden club about their farm and the Hmong botanical garden at the Arboretum. Through this living exhibit, the Lees tell the story of how they came to the U.S. after the Vietnam War, bringing precious medicinal herbs with them, and how they have been keeping these herbs and medicinal traditions alive in Minnesota. The club business meeting begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by refreshments and social time from 7-7:30. We meet in the Saint Anthony Park Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall; enter off of Luther Place. Visitors are welcome. We will also broadcast the meeting over Zoom. The zoom link will be emailed to members; for non-members, email [email protected] at least 8 hours before the meeting.
