Our featured artist this month is:
Anna May
Anna May crafts meditative moodscapes that blend folk, jazz, and ethereal Americana into something timeless and tender. Her songs move like prayers—immersive, poetic explorations of heartbreak, healing, and hope. Drawing on influences from Joni Mitchell to Jeff Buckley, Anna weaves lyrical introspection with sonic openness, creating trance-folk experiences that transcend genre.
Rooted in a nomadic spirit, Anna’s music reflects landscapes from New England to New Orleans to the American West, carried by a voice both fragile and fierce. A poet, dancer, and lifelong seeker, she approaches songwriting as meditation—inviting listeners into emotional release and reconnection.
Anna’s recent singles The Show, Elegy, and The Cliff have garnered acclaim from Ones to Watch, Americana UK, and NPR’s Great American Folk Show, with The Show chosen as Song of the Day on KUTX Austin. She’s shared stages with artists like Kacy Hill, Amythyst Kiah, and The Arcadian Wild, performing across the U.S. at festivals and venues from Hotel Café LA to Telluride’s Sheridan Opera House.
Her forthcoming album continues her quest to turn heartbreak into healing through sound—offering space for reflection, transcendence, and peace.
