Sshhh! The Secret Garden will be welcoming The Lack of Commitments on Sat 13th September.
Our first set features from the acclaimed film The Commitments with the very best music from the film and the two soundtrack albums. You’ll hear classic tunes from artists such as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Joe Tex and Percy Sledge. Nowhere to Run, Take Me to the River, Destination Anywhere, Hard to Handle, Mr Pitiful, I Never Loved a Man, Show Me, Try a Little Tenderness, I Can’t Stand the Rain and the inimitable Mustang Sally.
Our second set is a high energy set of soul and motown classics. We’ve plundered the soul archives and plucked out the very best stax atlantic, tamla motown, detroit and chicago soul classics to keep the party going. James Brown, The Marvelettes, The O’Jays, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Jackie Wilson and Signed, Sealed, Delivered. Tracks such as Higher and Higher, Love Train, Soul Man, I Got You (I Feel Good), Reach Out & Proud Mary.
