Join us, once a month, as we explore the Second Turning teachings and practices, as presented by the Mahayana Schools of Buddhism. These topics include understanding sunyata (Emptiness), arousing Bodhicitta (Awakened Heart), practicing the paramitas (transcendent virtues), committing to the Bodhisattva path, and becoming familiar with the contemplative practices that support our motivation and skill in helping others. We will also look at the Mādhyamaka tradition, which considers the ultimate nature of phenomena as well as the non-conceptual realization of ultimate reality.
Classes are available in person and online, and consist of meditation practice, lecture, discussion and small group dialogue, supplemented by online study group meetings to support contemplation, practice and understanding.
No prerequisites.
Newcomers as well as those with experience in meditation and Buddhism are welcome.
