About this Event
Sean Temme is a 22-year-old trumpet player and jazz composer based in New York. His passion for music is deeply rooted in the freedom of self-expression that Jazz allows. Having recently completed his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Composition and Performance at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Sean is immersed in a vibrant musical community that continues to shape and refine his artistic vision. His dedication to honing his craft is evident in every note he plays, and he consistently seeks new ways to push the limits of his musical abilities.
Shiyu Fang is a Chinese jazz pianist and composer whose work blends traditional jazz elements with innovative contemporary jazz compositional approaches. Currently pursuing her master’s degree in jazz composition at Manhattan School of Music with scholarship under the guidance of composer Darcy James Argue, Shiyu brings a distinct voice to contemporary jazz. Her compositions explore new sonic possibilities while honoring big band traditions. During her first year at Manhattan School of Music, her original big band composition was performed by the MSM Jazz Orchestra with famous vibraphonist Joe Locke. She also presented her arrangement of a Ron Miles piece at Dizzy's Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center in April 2025. Shiyu has been honored as the 2025 recipient of the Mary Jo Papich JEN Co-Founder Women in Jazz Scholarship, recognizing her outstanding talent and contributions to the jazz community.
A versatile bassist from Sydney, Australia, Lucy Southan has over a decade of performance experience across genres including Jazz, Musical Theatre, Rock, R&B, Latin, Fusion, Pop, and Classical. Lucy received her Bachelor’s Degree from Berklee College of Music in upright bass Performance in 2025, and is currently continuing her music education at Manhattan School of Music where she will receive a masters degree in Jazz Arts. Lucy is committed to advancing as a performer and composer.
Hunter Allison is a drummer and composer based in the tri-state area. Drawing from rich musical traditions and modern influences, he is dedicated to sharing a deeply personal, expressive voice.
