The Rythmn of Resilience: A Juneteenth Celebration of Black House Music
About this Event
House music was invented by Black DJs in Chicago. Disco was born in Black and queer clubs in New York.
Both genres were absorbed into mainstream culture, rebranded, and sold to audiences who rarely heard the names of the people who built them.
The Rhythm of Resilience is a Juneteenth celebration of that lineage — not as retrospective, but as living practice. A night of soulful house, deep house, and R&B-electronic music, curated to carry the tradition forward on the night that marks Black liberation in the United States.
