Sure, you've come to expect Ryan Driver's sextet (or at least quintet) on the last Friday of the month, but on this occasion you will treated to a super-rare solo performance of similar repertoire. That's right, beautiful slow ballads with likely nothing more than piano, human voice, and kazoo.
Why, you may ask, would Ryan Driver choose to reduce the band size by 83.34% for this occasion? Well, it's because it seems to him to be an intriguing challenge and a thing to offer that might be quite appealing to some people, and because the sextet will be playing a secret sextet show at a different location shortly thereafter (on Saturday, October 4th). I will be happy to privately tell you the specifics of that concert if you let me know that you are interested. We will be starting and ending earlier than usual so that all the earlybirds who love the sextet but hate to stay up late can attend. There will be a grand piano.
