:: THE SHOW ::
Pianist, singer, songwriter and uke player Ruth Shiroma Foster and classical/jazz clarinetist and composer Norm Foster take audiences on a journey through their eclectic mix of songs, from jazz and classical standards to pop favorites and originals. In addition, they invite the audience to join them in singalongs.
The project was born out of the couple’s Wednesday evening kitchen shows called 7@7, which they broadcasted on Facebook Live during the pandemic. This in-person concert will be done in the spirit of 7@7, where music and storytelling and the warm feeling of friendship permeate the space, making the hall feel like home.

The event is BYOB.
:: PARKING ::
DO NOT PARK on the residential side of the building — you will be towed. Park on the Diamond Head side, where there is a large sign that says Musicians Hall. On Saturdays, all spaces in the Musicians Hall parking garage are open to us. Street parking is also available.
:: ABOUT RUTH & NORM ::
Ruth has extensive experience as a soloist, accompanist and collaborating with other musicians. She started a group called VIVO, currently collaborates with local singer Ryan Souza and Becky McGarvey and has been the staff pianist at St. John's by the Sea since 2009. Ruth is active in the arts community and served as the music director and arranger for the theater production, Dragonfly, which was produced in Honolulu by the Playbuilders Theatre Company. Having played the piano since age 8, Ruth was raised as a young person to serve in musical leadership roles as church accompanist, praise band leader and choir director. This is where she developed her sensibility that music is a tool that connects you to other people. Norm is a clarinetist, pianist, arranger and composer. He plays with the Hawaii Symphony, a jazz group called Gypsy 808 and a Balkan music group called Partners in Time. Norm also performs with the Honolulu-based klezmer band called Sherele. Norm and Ruth perform at various venues around town, including Medici, Hawaii Public Radio, The Dragon Upstairs and the old Chuck's Cellar (closed). Norm and Ruth were both teaching artists at an afterschool music program called El Sistema, working with kids who live at Kuhio Park Neighborhood, the nation's largest federally funded housing project. During the pandemic, Ruth and Norm started weekly live performances on Facebook called "7@7 Wednesdays," in which they perform 7 highly curated songs at 7 p.m. every Wednesday.
