All aboard the Rueda Express! Next stop: Funkytown! (ok, Princeton, NJ)On Saturday, November 30th, join us for 3.5 hours of ADVANCED training in rueda de casino. Michael Payne, of Treinta y Tres in Delaware, and Ethan Wagner, of his parents' basement in New York, will lead an afternoon of in-depth rueda workshops.
We will be focusing on Rueda Remolino (a movement-oriented structure that is growing quickly) and Rueda Rauda (a rapid-fire way of dancing that will test your reaction skills). Along the way, we'll be tossing in other new, fun, and challenging ideas that will up your rueda game.
These workshops are aimed at ADVANCED dancers in rueda de casino only; while you don't need to know much about Remolino or Rauda, we ask (and will enforce) that you DO have enough experience dancing rueda de casino, and have some exposure to the idea of rueda structures, to make sure that it's the right opportunity for you. (If you're a beginner, we've got plenty of other chances for you to dance and learn with us in both NY and DE).
The workshops will take place in the lovely autumn college town of Princeton, NJ, which will make us all feel smarter as we prep our brains for these rueda challenges. Princeton is halfway between NY, NY and Wilmington, DE, making it the ideal meetup point, and it's just over one hour on the train from either location.
We'll be posting more info about the venue, cost/payment, and other activities during the day (you can count on dinner together and a game of "rueda de tazas" with our drinking cups).
