BIO:
Gail McArthur is a saxophonist, educator, and composer originally from Scotland. She has performed prolifically, including appearances on television broadcasts such as Channel 4 UK’s Down the Line, CNN’s Berklee Special, and CN8’s Nitebeat. McArthur has performed with Benny Carter, Gerry Mulligan, Grover Washington, Don Cherry, Jackie McLean, Christian McBride, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Maria Schneider, Antonio Sanchez, the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, Vital Information and Steve Smith, Dave Weckl, and Horacio Hernandez.
In 1999 and 2000, Gail was commissioned by the Scottish Arts Council to compose pieces for the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra. After performing extensively in the U.K. and U.S., McArthur became an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music, where she also teaches for Berkleemusic online. She has worked extensively in the New England music scene with many General Business bands, including Jerry Bennett, Allnighters, Perry Rossi, and Platinum.
Renato Milone, originally from Italy, is a dynamic drummer and music professional based in Boston. He has built an impressive career performing, touring internationally, and recording with renowned artists, including Whitney Houston, Marco Panascia, Sandro Deidda, and Lena Biolcati. Renato's versatile style and technical precision have made him a sought-after session drummer across a variety of genres.
Currently, he is on the faculty at Berklee College of Music, where he teaches and develops courses in studio recording techniques and audio production. Renato holds a Bachelor’s in Contemporary Writing and Production, a Bachelor’s in Composing for Film, TV, and Games, and a Master’s in Film Scoring, combining formal training with real-world experience.
Lorenzo Valentini is an electric bassist originally from Rome, Italy. After studying in Rome, he performed extensively with local bands, primarily in rock and progressive rock styles. He also performed around Italy and internationally in Japan, Canada, and the United Kingdom. In 2004, he studied at Berklee College of Music before relocating to Phoenix, AZ, where he played with many local working bands in a variety of musical styles.
Lorenzo is also trained as an opera singer and performed with the Arizona and Phoenix Opera companies between 2010 and 2015. He is currently based in Boston, performing in several different settings, including with 93SouthBand.
Amy Bellamy received her Master’s in Music from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After relocating to Boston, she joined the Sam Kininger Band (of Soulive and Lettuce) and toured throughout the U.S., culminating in their critically acclaimed 2010 album Anthem (BMG Japan). Amy and her husband, bassist Aaron Bellamy (The A-Beez), have led a well-established, 20-year Tuesday night residency at Boston’s Wally’s Jazz Café. The A-Beez have released three albums: Never Going Back (2015), Say Goodbye (2018), and Reclamation (2021).
Ms. Bellamy has performed with Chaka Khan (for President Bill Clinton), Terri Lyne Carrington, G Love and the Juice, Ivan Neville, RUN DMC, The Nth Power, Jennifer Hartswick, Oleta Adams, Res, Club D’Elf, Cody Chesnutt, Martin Luther, Shing02, the Harlem Gospel Choir, Bruce Bartlett, Akrobatik, Mr. Lif, and many more. She has shared bills with major artists such as Parliament-Funkadelic, Morris Day and the Time, Bootsy Collins, and Chick Corea.
As a classical accompanist, she has appeared on multiple European tours, including performances at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice, Italy. Ms. Bellamy is currently an Associate Professor in the Harmony and Jazz Composition Department as well as an Adjunct Professor in the Piano Department at Berklee College of Music.
Giovanni Moltoni, originally from Turin, Italy, attended Berklee College of Music, graduating with honors in 1991. He then pursued an MFA in Jazz Guitar at New England Conservatory. Giovanni played jazz both locally and internationally, receiving his first press reviews while composing original music and playing with world-renowned jazz artists. His debut album, Directions, was released on the Pentaflowers label, featuring Hal Crook (trombone), Paul Del Nero (bass), and Marcello Pelliteri (drums).
Giovanni has released several other albums, including Openground (2003) on his independent label C# Squared Productions, featuring Bob Tamagni (drums) and Paul Del Nero (bass). The album was well received by critics and showcased his new fingerstyle technique. In 2008, he released his third album, 3, with Bob Tamagni (drums), Fernando Huergo (bass), and Greg Hopkins (trumpet). His fourth album, Live, was released in 2010, followed by Tomorrow’s Pastin 2012. This album marked a new evolution in his music, featuring six original compositions by Giovanni, two by Greg Hopkins, and one by Fernando Huergo.
After three quartet recordings, Giovanni released his first trio album in over ten years, Just Another Night (2016), recorded live in Boston with Fernando Huergo (bass) and Marcello Pelliteri (drums). The album features five new compositions and four trio arrangements of previously recorded pieces.
Giovanni began his teaching career at Berklee College of Music in 1998 in the Ear Training Department and currently holds the rank of Professor.
