We’re seeking submissions for The Rockford Anthology, part of Belt Publishing’s city anthology series, and we want your story. If you’re a current or former Rockford resident with a story to tell but are unsure where to start, this workshop is for you.
Led by Rachel León, this essay writing workshop is designed to help you find your voice and share your unique Rockford experience.
León will guide you through the process of turning your memories, thoughts, and feelings into a compelling essay about your pride, pain, joy, or disappointment in the city.
During the workshop, you’ll:
- Learn the basics of essay writing in a relaxed and welcoming environment
- Receive guidance on how to organize your thoughts and structure your essay
- Gain confidence in your storytelling abilities, regardless of your experience level
All you will need is a laptop or some paper and something to write with.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have the tools you need to write an essay for consideration in The Rockford Anthology. Submission guidelines will be reviewed, and the deadline will be extended to participants.
Don’t miss this chance to contribute to a vibrant collection that captures the essence of Rockford through the voices of those who know it best. Join us, and let your story be heard!
If you have questions or need more information, email [email protected].
