The Rob Roy Kelly Student Residency Open House

We warmly invite you to join us for the annual Rob Roy Kelly Collection Student Residency Open House. This is a unique opportunity to visit the UT Design Lab, home of the Rob Roy Kelly American Wood Type Collection.

This Open House is an exhibition centered around the ongoing project to reimagine Kelly’s original typographic specimen folio. Participants are tasked with redesigning and printing the wood type with new perspectives for a new edition. The body of work from this summer will be on display in the Design Lab. Enjoy snacks and beverages while getting to know the student printers, staff, faculty, as well as other members of the Austin print community.

In addition, we’re proud to present our Open House in collaboration with the opening of Hundred Points at the Visual Arts Center. A selection of folio prints from this ongoing project will be displayed alongside works by 16 local and international designers and studios.
