The Road Through the Jerseys

April 9–11, 2027- The Road Through the Jerseys
Step beyond the typical tactical—and into the uncertainty of campaign life.
This event is being built by reenactors, for reenactors with one goal: to give participants an immersive, historically grounded experience of what it meant to serve in the field during the Spring Campaign of 1777.
This will not be a public event. There are no spectators, no scripted battles for show—only orders, objectives, and the realities of operating in the field.
There will be stationary camps for both sides with those units who wish to, living in the field.
Over several hundred acres of exceptional ground—woodlots, open fields, and a period 1770s structure—participants will take part in a controlled maneuver-style event designed to reflect the movements, decisions, and uncertainty faced by soldiers on campaign.
What to Expect:
Scenario-based operations built around Spring 1777 actions in the New Jersey/Pennsylvania theater
Daytime maneuvers under orders with evolving objectives
Established camps for each side, with the feel of active campaign life
Optional grand guard and extended operations Saturday night
Opportunities for cavalry and artillery in historically appropriate roles
Integrated civilian impressions woven into the overall experience
Rather than a fixed “battle,” this event focuses on:
Movement
Communication
Command decisions
Operating in the fog of war
Participants will not always know what comes next—just as it was.
Schedule:
Friday: Arrival and camp establishment
Saturday: Full day of operations
Sunday: Final scenarios conclude by 11:00 AM to allow travel home
Numbers & Participation:
We are aiming for approximately 100–150 per side to maintain scale, realism, and maneuverability.
We all attend many types of events throughout the year. This one is different.
This is about stepping into the unknown,
about living the campaign, not just portraying it,
and about doing so alongside fellow reenactors who value authenticity, challenge, and experience.
If that speaks to you and your unit, we would be honored to have you join us.
More details, photos of the ground, and unit coordination information will be released soon.
Hosted in cooperation with experienced organizers across multiple impressions and time periods
