The RNC in Milwaukee -- kickoff to a pivotal election year in Wisconsin

The July national GOP convention in Milwaukee kicks off a pivotal election year in Wisconsin -- from state legislative races under new maps to the presidential race in a purple state that is a must-win for both Joe Biden and Donald Trump. In August, Democrats gather for the national convention in Chicago, highlighting the importance of the Midwest in this year's elections.

Get the rundown of all that's ahead by attending a lunchtime panel discussion at Spectrum News headquarters in Milwaukee moderated by anchor Jason Fechner.

The panel:

--State Sen. Julian Bradley, R-Franklin and a longtime GOP activist

--State Rep. Kalan Haywood, D-Milwaukee and the assistant Democratic leader in the Assembly

--Chuck Chvala, the former Senate majority leader from Madison and co-star of the WisPolitics video podcast, "The Insiders"

-- Joe Handrick, a former GOP state representative from Minocqua who is an election-redistricting expert and author of a 2024 redistricting handbook valued by members of both major parties

The doors open at 11:30 a.m., and the program goes from about 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Attendance is free for those who register in advance through this site.

A box lunch may be purchased during registration for $20. The deadline to order lunch is Friday, June 21, at 2 p.m. Refreshments are complimentary.
