About this Event
The Revolution Reimagined is hosting a "Night of Justice" which blends the performing arts, Hip Hop and history as part of New Jersey’s 250th Celebration of the Declaration of Independence. By reimagining the American Revolution, we make it relevant and relatable. The program is unique because it draws powerful parallels between New Jersey’s role as the crossroads of both the American Revolution and Hip Hop Culture.
Art Poster Contest winners will be awarded prizes and special artistic presentations will be presented. See attached flyer for entry details.
Art Exhibit: 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm
A Night of Justice Program: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
This program was created by María Daniel, Founder and Artistic Director of iDance Ministry. It is sponsored in part by iDance Ministry, RevNJ, Mayor Josh Losardo (via the Township of Scotch Plains), the Scotch Plains-Fanwood BOE, the Union County History Grant and Social Justice Matters.
The American Revolution and Hip Hop Culture are grounded in rights, resistance, social justice, freedom, and equality which reshaped society. Both continue to influence the national experience today.
