After completing both The Hobbit and the first two parts of The Lord of the Rings, English actor Dominic Ryland-Jones is back after the summer break to invite you to join him once again in Middle-earth, to conclude one of the greatest adventures in all of literature with the third and final part: The Return of the King.IMPORTANT: Since finishing The Two Towers, our location has now moved to the wonderful new Lord of the Rings-themed tavern 'The Headless Chicken' on Katriina käik. See our post about it on the main page for photos and more information, or check them out on Instagram at @headless_chicken_tavern
If you've seen the films and always wanted to read the books but been daunted by the size or simply never had the time, why not come along once a week and settle down with a drink and slice of seed cake, baked to the traditional old English recipe (as mentioned in The Hobbit), and allow yourself to be transported into a wondrous and thrilling fantasy world!
Starting on Wednesday the 18th of September, and continuing every Wednesday evening at 19:00 for a total of 9 weeks, Dominic will once again perform his unabridged dramatic reading of The Return of the King.
Why would you come to listen to someone else read a book out loud? If you've not been to a dramatic reading before, the term 'dramatic' means that alongside the general descriptive narration, the performer inhabits every main character with vocal acting, giving them each their own unique voice/vocal mannerisms. On top of this, all songs are actually sung. The idea is simply to provide the most immersive experience possible for the listener.
This is the perfect opportunity to discover (or perhaps rediscover) the original books that inspired the acclaimed film trilogy.
Tickets are just €10 for adults, €7 for students, and children are welcome for FREE! Seed-cake is complimentary with an entrance ticket.
Tickets are purchased on the door, in cash or online.
