The Resort, Roller Coaster, and Art Village of Long Beach Tour

Parking: Garage at 50 E. 3rd St or All Day city lot at 169 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach.

We begin in Harvey Milk Park at the 1938 mosaic mural that depicted Los Angeles's Resort. The mural was moved from the Municipal Auditorium (razed in 1979) to its current location in 1982. The Promenade begins at the Harvey Milk Park which is also a bus center. We will walk the well landscaped sidewalk, past quality restaurants to the side.

Next we visit the East Village Arts District to catch some of Long Beach's finest art work. Next we catch a glimpse of Wyland's greatest art piece, the mural on the Long Beach Arena. From there, we visit the fountains in front of the Long Beach Performing Art building.

Next we stroll through the Rainbow Bridge, past the Convention Center, and onto the area that was previously The Pike, a popular amusement park that lasted from 1902 to 1979. We will look at the remnants that remain of The Pike.
