About this Event

Nurturing the Artist Within: Positive Psychology for Singers

Your body is your instrument. Unlike other musicians, a singer's voice lives inside their body, brain, and nervous system. Because your craft is inseparable from your physical and emotional self, industry pressures and vocal criticism can easily feel like threats to your self-worth. Navigating gruelling schedules, unpredictable spaces, and varied creative leaders while battling tiredness is a challenge for any singer.

This session introduces a vital shift from the industry’s traditional flaw-fixing habits to a supportive, strength-based framework. Rather than promoting forced optimism, we explore practical, science-backed tools from Positive Psychology — specifically the PERMA model. You will learn to apply these resources directly to daily practice, rehearsals, and life backstage to safeguard well-being, build resilience, and sustain a long-term career.
